Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Group Global Head of Trade Export Control

Based in Nissan, but working for the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, I created and developed an entirely new function of Global Export Regulatory Compliance Programme. Highlights include the writing and publishing of the internal Global Export Policy (sign-off by CEO in 2017); design and deployment of world-wide Anti-Corruption, Trade Compliance and Export Control training; implementation of strict controls by Nissan engineers of dual-use compliance in R&D, among others. Nissan being global,  compliance and cooperation with authorities are mandatory with the US, Japan, the EU, the UK, China, India, Thailand, etc.

“I have known Kaoru for several years through our mutual working within global Nissan functions, she always demonstrates a dedicated approach to work, with a strong 'can do' ethic to the most challenging or mundane of tasks.
Her approach is positive and always encouraging to those involved, quietly pulling people along so that they too can achieve."

Nissan Design Europe, London

"I have appreciated your hard work and drive all these years, you have been a great example and motivation. Thank you for your leadership and direction, without you and the skills you brought, I can’t imagine the global export control team being anywhere near what it is today. Now we get to stand on your shoulders and reap the benefits. Your approach is positive and always encouraging to those involved, quietly pulling people along so that they too can achieve."

Jonathan Young, Export Compliance Analyst

Nissan North America, Inc., Nashville TN

“Specifically around Export Control, Kaoru's knowledge is deep and her approach pragmatic and objective, which I have found to be key in exercising good management of this subject, in my non-expert capacity.
Attention to detail is high and although the subject can be quite bureaucratic there is a refreshing common sense approach to the work.”

Nissan Design Europe, London

“Thank you very very much for your advices and supports for all of us. I have been always impressed by your ability of leadership and communication. We will miss you, but would like to dedicate efforts to keep the Alliance compliant by taking over the export control framework your established.”
